Rayhat Reef 31/5/2016

The small Reefs of Rayhat, four nautical miles from Makholma shore, are the only islets on the whole wide Makholma Bay. Back in the 70's, there was still a community of fishers keeping night in small huts on the Reefs, but the faster outboard motors replaced the slower inboard motors, and thus the huts became needless. This is a sample from an over-night recording, duration of 101 minutes, beginning at 3.45 and ending 5.26 in the morning. There are still a few older men fishing in Makholma, and their boats are passing the Reef, and returning in the end.
